Poems of my cousin, Ura May
Doggie in the Window

Linda sang so carefully,
“How much is that doggie in the window?”
Each note was practiced faithfully,
Anyone could tell she had worked diligently,
To memorize the song just so,
While she sang which such a flo’.

Along came Sherry, little Sis,
Adding her own style with bliss,
The country version was her plea,
“Howwww MUCh is thet Doughgie,
In the winnnnnndddddow?
Ah dew hope thet doughie’s fur sale.”
That was her wail.

“Stop it Sherry, I’m trying,
To sing this song right and not crying,”
Linda was determined to excel,
Sherry equally knew her song well.
