Written for 50th
anniversary of our Marriage
The harder you work, the luckier you get,
Old proverb applies to man, woman, child or pet.
Close all else out, least of all don’t question or fret,
Certainly sure you’ll never know you met,
At the flip of a coin or on a bet,
The one you love on a boat or a jet,
Wherever cupid dropped his net.
So goes the years of toil and sweat
Of marriage, child rearing to let
In diamond’s stone all is set.
Steel the resolve to have no regret
Brush away any tears on face so wet,
Glare into the face of adversities threat
While you sip the heady wine and keep in step. |
