Paul
was born May 2, 1930. He died April 26, 2005. The same day almost to the
hour his great-nephew Bryce Donovan Loya was born. Paul was the grandson
of Joseph Hubbard Jones, great-great grandson of William Stephens Jones.
Paul was the ggggrandson of William Beaver Jones, who is buried at Valley
View, Arkansas, born in Georgia.
Paul Jones is the second son of Lee Otis Jones by his first wife Emma. He
is a retired rancher. However, he worked at land conservation for many
years along with his ranching. His work bettered the state through the
many earth dams he built for flood control and water conservation. There
have been no calculations as to the amount of protein rich hay he provided
from the land he owned and leased in the ranching community. This protein
rich blue stem prairie hay allowed Paul to bring an abundant supply of
beef for the nourishment of our society.
Because his work covered a wide area he owned an airplane and flew to his
jobs. On one occasion the wheels of his airplane caught power lines
causing him to crash his plane. The miracle was that he lived. However,
his health was very much damaged. During his last years he had a great
struggle to walk, but, nonetheless; he made it to his tractor and
continues on with his work. Paul was the grandson of a German immigrant.
He had a love, appreciation, and knowledge of the land and knew how to
care for it.
He built two lovely homes virtually with his own hands. They are in close
proximity and one is occupied by his son John who now is responsible for
their lands. Paul has two daughters, Paula and Debbie. He has two sons,
David and John. Paul's wife, Billie Johnson Jones, lives in one of the
homes she and Paul built. |
