daugher, Lora Lee Brownfield, Mrs. Virgil Brownfield of Jenkins,
Missouri.
Her funeral was attended by her
children and grandchildren from New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma,
and Missouri.
The sun came out and the wind cleared some of the clouds away as
the minister spoke of Ona Bee telling of her ways as a loving
grandmother, loyal wife and mother who was a believer and
practiced her Christian faith. Which was not just words but was
totally true. Ona Bee would visit Rhonda and I at different
times. Once when Rhonda was a baby and we lived in the far out
place on the prairie. She was a spirited, kind, loving person
who took all of life in stride with a happy positive outlook in
every situation. She always welcomed visitors with offerings of
some cake, cookie, or desert to go with a cup of coffee. Her
home was a haven for anyone who wished to drop in on her. She
was an avid grower of flowers and her front yard on the main
street of Shidler was totally full of color at all times during
the summer months.
"Keeps me off the street and out of the parlors for spirits,"
She laughed when anyone commented on her lovely yard. We knew
she probably was never in a "parlor for spirits."
