Donna's Poems
Pestering Multitude

What a wonderful culture these about me hold
Strong of character never do they fold
Store their elders away from sight
Walk forward never behind, look for blight.

Mother and Father we held to the last
Shared whatever die was cast
We know Mother's kind are gone
She, too is not here for long.

All the little mosquitoes prick my skin
Slap at them, fight back won't let them win
Uncomfortable this pestering multitude
Of worrisome pests intrude.

If I hear Mother advising granddaughter in chair
I've got to go now soon,  my  loved one fair,
Wish I could stay with you here now,
But, you know I've got to go,  anyhow.

Now I,  her daughter,  my duty I reach for on high
Touch the space there in the sky
Dear God, help me let each day be one of treasured existence
Try to enjoy the moment worry not tomorrow's wrench.
