A series of logo's for a
Nigerian man has my time tied up at the moment and haven't even had time to
do a journal.
Understandably there was
grief experienced by former students and employees at the conditions of
Chilocco. For this, let me tell you, there are rumblings of different
things in the wind. They are so abstract at the moment. A discussion cannot
be entertained because nothing is firm. However, it is better than what has
happened all these years, and this is nothing. Be encouraged, I think the
“ragging” I have done as far as writing whatever about Chilocco has been of
some help. If you can stay with me on the sorrows of the conditions, maybe
some good will come for this recording of history.
As soon as the Nigerian man
pays me I am going to ask him if we can put them up on Electric Scotland so
all can see them. If he doesn't pay me, for sure they will go up on the web
for sale, and mind yo. So far I'm very proud of how they have turned out. If
nothing else I have a finer, better, understanding of that culture, which,
by the way, is beautiful. The gentleman will take the designs, put them on
t-shirts to use with his organization for the battle against A.I.D.S in that
country. I'm feeling good about the way I have been able to depict the
designs with discretion, yet force. I absolutely can not take the credit
because I've dreamed two of the designs while I was asleep.
The paint I'm using is a
killer for me and there will be nothing more done in that medium for a long
time, if ever. Everything from here on will have to be in watercolor. That
is, unless I am brave enough to learn another very difficult medium, egg
tempera. At my age I'm not too interested in mastering another medium, no
matter how clean it is. |
