Jones Place on the Osage Highlands
Page 10

Included is  this man's work because it look very much like the work Lee Otis Jones did as to decoration for the living room of the ranch house. The difference is that Lee used the roots of the Bois D'Arc tree which are a rich strong pure yellow color. The wood polished to a high sheen was beautiful and rare. He chose roots which could be set upright in order to have a shelf set across the top. These served as a sort of in table for the heavy dark furniture. They showed up in a nice contrast.

The work of Vincent Eudovic, Island of Lucia, West Indies

The floors were polished daily with a dust mop and a very primitive vacuum sweeper was used on the rugs.
