We read, “How Can you Love
Your God's Name high and above
Him you cannot see you know,
But your brother here below,
You observe on bended knee,
His Longing for a moment to be free.
This might require from you a step
As pain there is from tears wept
Your exertion is a need
To lift and maybe to feed
Its more than a turning up of face
Might even require a race
A cutting into your space
Your own body his brace
Don't neglect your prayer, of course
But neither your brother who is far worse
His cries you can to see,
That sorrow face it! His plea.
There is joy in a call to our God
But difficult to call ourselves from a nod.
When terrors upon our own require
Our action, quick and sure as a fire. |
