Donna's Poems
Country Girl's Solo

Softly falls the gauze drape of her gown,
Sighs she while grinning, "I'm going to town."

This country girl had a harvest alone,
Now my fingers are worked to the bone.

Give me a break from the overall
I want a dress from the mall.

Let me see the sights of the sky scraper,
While others read of me in the paper.

For a while, don't let me worry of grit and gumbo,
Instead  the sights of Dallas, I didn't mumble.

I love my pony and my ranch tiny and tidy,
But for a time I only want to look upon the mighty.

I promise I'll just stroll about a bit,
Come home and get back to it.
