In this world filled with
shiny, bright material things
I am thankful for the freedom my Dad's teachings brings.
I was a child when he lovingly said to me,
“Don’t become a slave, keep yourself free.”
I told him, “I love my dollies so much, you see.”
He said “Of course you do, and that is all right.
Each one keeps your space bright,
But remember things of material and all
Can bring you to a mighty fall.”
A child I was, but still I thought about it.
He seemed to mysteriously know a bit
Of something I couldn’t understand
