IRISH,
SCOTT OR NOT
They ask, "Are you
Scott?"
"If you are not Irish, then what?"
"Is there a tribe?
And what clan?"
"Let me see the color of your hand?"
The child is pensive of
questions of class
Wonders she does of the things past.
Sighs her mother, "If
you call my child only half reed,"
Maybe, I'll make your nose bleed.
I will answer your
question, Mother imparts,
"She is the love of her Father and Mother's hearts.
She can build a race
structured on this love's rule
Strong and mighty, loving and kind, no one's fool. |
