On Saturday July 25th At the 2009 Homecoming
Gathering in Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, The Chief of the Scottish Clan
Leslie, the Honourable Alexander Leslie, appointed William Leslie of
Orillia the Commissioner for North America for the Clan Leslie. William
Leslie will be the Chief's representative for all Clan Leslie members in
North America. This appointment is a great honour and has been held by
only two individuals in the past. The presentation of the Clan Leslie
Medallion was made at the Leslie Tent in the presence of approximately
28 Leslies who attended the Gathering. Prince Charles and the Duchess of
Cornwall also attended the Gathering and greeted the 100 Clan Chiefs
individually, including the Honourable Alexander Leslie. Alexander is
shown second from the right, the Duchess is on the left.
