The Castellated and Domestic Architecture of Scotland
Inverlochy Castle, Inverness-shire

Thanks to Lora Cline for sending us this information: It was held by the Comyns in late 13th, early 14th century, the first mentioned was John II the Black Comyn Lord of Badenoch [1242-1303] who died in Inverlochy Castle; the second was his son, John III the Red Comyn Lord of Badenoch [1269-Feb. 10, 1305] who was born at Inverlochy Castle. (This John is the one Bruce murdered in the Church of the Grey Friars in Dumfries -- tough times!).
